Retailer Profile Sendik’s
Sendik’s Food Market has a long history in the metro-Milwaukee market. It traces its roots back to 1926 when the Balistreri family first began peddling quality fruits and vegetables by horse-drawn wagon on Milwaukee’s northeast side.
In the 90 years since, Sendik’s Food Market has grown to be a well-known and beloved brand across southeast Wisconsin. Currently, Sendk’s Food Market is in the middle of a major regional expansion that will include its new store as a corner anchor at The Corners of Brookfield.
“This is our 90th year in business, and we are very flattered that the demand for our brand continues to grow,” said family co-owner Ted Balistreri. “The Corners is an ideal location to serve the Waukesha County community. The site offers easy access for our guests from the Goerke’s Corners interchange, ample parking and is sure to become a premier retail destination in southeastern Wisconsin.”
The 32,000 square-foot store will have a full complement of grocery offerings, including Sendik’s famous hand-stacked produce, a Fresh2GO deli, full-service meat and bakery counters, a Sendik’s Home department and more. The store will employ more than 100 full- and part-time associates.
“The Corners is a high-profile location,” said Balistreri. “We are thrilled to be a part of it.”
