Manager Monday: Altar’d State

One of our first-to-Wisconsin favorites, Altar’d State, is crushing the whole feel good, look good, and do good vibe! We caught up with Megan, the amazing manager there; she truly has the most positive, can-do attitude you’ll ever come across! Her smile is infectious, and she always manages to put a little more sunshine in your day.

Your homework is to visit their beautiful store at The Corners! You can’t miss it, with it’s eye-catching copper entrance and fabulous window displays!

TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT YOURSELF!

Originally from Northern Illinois, but lived in Columbia, Missouri for the past 9 years. I had the opportunity to open Altar’d State’s 25th store in 2013. I graduated from Mizzou with a health science degree and went in a completely different direction once I discovered Altar’d State. I relocated to the Milwaukee area in September to open our 95th store.

WHAT MAKES ALTAR’D STATE SPECIAL?

The give back we do as a company. Every Monday we give back 10% of net sales to local charities through our Mission Monday program. We get to choose whatever organization we want that coincides with our company’s theme for that period. It’s amazing to get to help out locally and make a difference. We also always give back 1% of sales to charities around the world, including our biggest contribution going to Coprodeli in Peru, where we build churches, high schools, and sports facilities for impoverished children.

WHAT WOULD THE PERFECT WEEKEND LOOK LIKE FOR YOU?

Getting to spend time with friends/family discovering new areas. I love small weekend travels. I also love biking around Milwaukee with my boyfriend to discover all the wonderful things this area has to offer!

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING TO ORDER AT ONE OF OUR CORNER’S RESTAURANTS?

The BELT & A from Café Hollander for brunch! Sushi Wednesday’s at Sendik’s is a close second.
